Finnish authorities claim that GPS interference is recorded in the Gulf of Finland and near the border with Russia. Against this background, Finnair has suspended flights to Tartu for a month.

Valtonen stated that signal suppression affects civil aviation, but the situation is under control. The Minister reminded that aircraft have alternative navigation methods if GPS is unavailable.

According to Finnish media, Russia has electronic warfare bases in the Gulf of Finland and the Baltic Sea. In particular, they may be located in Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, and Kronstadt.

Earlier, the Baltic countries accused Russia of suppressing GPS signals in the Baltic Sea.
