Rosatom: 90% of Russians Support the Development of Nuclear Energy

The survey was conducted in regions where nuclear power plants are located

The vast majority of Russians (90%) approve of the use of nuclear energy as one of the ways to provide the country with electricity. The survey was conducted in 12 regions of Russia, Rosenergoatom (a division of Rosatom) reported.

In 2023, the development of nuclear energy in Russia was supported by 87.3% of Russians. In the satellite cities of nuclear power plants, they are considered to be objects that have a great impact on the development of the economy and the social sphere. Russians stated that the future lies in nuclear and alternative energy.

Rosatom participates in NPP construction projects in other countries, including Turkey and China. The corporation is also considering cooperation with Belarus.
