The new "Ivolga 4.0" train has started running on MCD-4 (Kaluzhsko-Nizhegorodsky). The launch ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, and the General Director of Russian Railways, Oleg Belozerov.
The Mayor of Moscow stated that "Ivolga 4.0" is 97% composed of Russian components. The model has been improved, which has increased the level of passenger comfort. The new "Ivolga" can accelerate up to 160 km/h. About 50 thousand people and 600 enterprises participated in the project.
For the first time, an urban electric train has three doors in the intermediate cars, which means that boarding and disembarking passengers has become as fast and convenient as in a classic underground metro. In addition, it can carry almost 100 more people than the previous modification.
Moscow Central Diameters are 136 stations, 50 city stations and 330 km of tracks. Passengers on the central diameters make 1.3 million trips daily.
398 trains run on the MCD lines, 80% of them meet modern requirements. The renewal of the rolling stock on MCD-3 (Leningradsko-Kazansky) is planned to be completed by the end of 2024, and on MCD-4 (Kaluzhsko-Nizhegorodsky) - by the end of 2025.
Moscow Central Diameters started operating on November 29, 2019, by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin. During this time, 900 million passengers have used the MCD.
Earlier www1.ru wrote that in 2027, Russian Railways will have a train capable of accelerating up to 400 km/h.
