Russian company NtechLab, known for its facial recognition solutions using artificial intelligence, has presented a new technology, but this time in the field of medicine. The company has been developing this area since 2022, and the latest development promises to simplify the detection of various types of strokes, entrusting the procedure to AI.
Thus, based on CT scans of the brain, NtechLab's solution identifies one of four types of hemorrhagic stroke, localizes its location in the brain, and calculates its volume. In the case of ischemic stroke, in addition to localization, NtechMed CT Brain also provides an assessment of the severity of the stroke on the ASPECTS scale, which is an important indicator for doctors.
The technology has already been tested at the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the Moscow Government in 2023. More than 20 thousand CT scans of the brain of patients with strokes were processed to train the AI.
Alexey Palamarchuk, who holds the position of CEO of NtechLab, also clarified that work is already underway on a new version of the product. Previously, the diagnosis took 4 hours. The new development will enable doctors to detect acute strokes at an early stage much faster.
Earlier it was reported that in Russia they are creating an application that will help restore speech after a stroke.
