A coating that extends the service life of parts and equipment by 10 times has been developed for Rostvertol, Tagmet, and Ural Steel

A unique technology was invented by scientists from the Rostov region

Scientists from the Don State Technical University have invented a technological process for spraying wear-resistant protective coatings, with the help of which it is possible to extend the service life of parts and equipment by 10 times, said project curator Andrey Kochetov. The university is already cooperating with Rostvertol, Tagmet, and Ural Steel.

The material and the technology of its application are unique due to the fact that we use a complex acoustic field. We mix amorphous tungsten-cobalt compounds

What alloys are obtained:

  • carbides
  • carbonitrides
  • intermetallides

Kochetov emphasized that the coating has 100% adhesion to the substrate in any parts. The metal is embedded in the crystal lattice of the base.

That is, it is continuous, due to which we obtained high performance characteristics of products

The scope of this technology is very wide: from medicine, transport engineering, aircraft construction to shipbuilding and energy. Now scientists are focused on using their developments for machine parts and forming tools, when processing internal surfaces of various products.
