New AI (artificial intelligence) tools will be added to the Roskomnadzor monitoring system (IS MIR). This system is designed to identify prohibited information, detect reprints, and label content (neutral, negative, or positive opinion of the author). Thanks to AI technologies, information on the Web will be filtered faster.
According to previously announced data, in 2023, it took about three hours to identify illegal information (from the moment of publication on an Internet resource). This year, the search time is planned to be reduced to several hours, and by the end of 2026 — to one hour.
Innostage representative Evgeny Surkov believes that the use of artificial intelligence will significantly reduce the costs of personnel and system support. Other experts believe that for collecting and processing content in Runet, it is necessary to have huge capacities, which only Yandex and VK Group have.
Earlier in Russia, a program appeared to block prohibited content on the Web.
