Engineers at MIPT have presented the Albatross drone for monitoring and relaying signals, which can stay in the sky for up to 3 hours and fly up to 300 km.
The Albatross is an airplane-type UAV. It is equipped with an electric motor and can carry up to 2 kg of payload.
One of the authors of the project, Denis Belyaev, said that the take-off weight of the drone itself is 5 kg. At the same time, its energy efficiency is 20% higher than that of its counterparts.
What tasks will the Albatross solve:
- Protection of Russian borders
- Monitoring of objects in the civil sector
- Relaying UAV signals
The drone repeater will appear on the market in the fall of 2024. Its estimated cost is 150 thousand rubles.
Earlier, Chechen engineers developed the Malik-mini drone detector, which will operate in the Krylo sky monitoring system.
