The Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has demanded that the American company Apple explain why contactless payment systems Mir Pay, SberPay, Tinkoff Pay and others are blocked on its devices.
The department explained that Apple violated Russian antimonopoly laws. The company has created exclusive conditions for its applications and applications from foreign developers, as well as the Apple Pay system.
At the same time, many Russian applications, including banking applications, were removed from the AppStore. And the possibility of contactless NFC payment is only available for Apple Pay, the FAS added.
The Ministry of Digital Development is also preparing a bill that will oblige the American IT giant to allow the installation of third-party applications on the devices of Russian users.
Earlier, Roskachestvo stated that Applehas the technical capabilities to disable its gadgets in Russia. This could turn smartphones, tablets and other devices into "bricks."
