Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, and the Russian Guard conducted searches in the Moscow office of "Sirena-Travel" (part of Rostec), which developed the Russian booking system Leonardo. This was reported by an informed source.
Another source explained that the operational actions are related to attacks on the Leonardo IT infrastructure that occurred in the fall of 2023. Sirena-Travel notified law enforcement agencies about information security incidents and provided access to all documents for investigation. Law enforcement officers are studying the equipment to identify potential vulnerabilities. Documents are also being seized from the office, the source added.
Sirena-Travel rents premises from NIC ASK on Leningradsky Prospekt. The company's legal advisor stated that the searches are not related to the activities of JSC NIC ASK. The media does not yet have official comments from law enforcement agencies and Rostec about the operational activities.
The hacker attack on Leonardo occurred on September 28, 2023, from the territory of several countries. As a result, it paralyzed the passenger registration system for Aeroflot, Ural Airlines, and Red Wings for a while. Rostec stated that the attackers wanted to stop air transportation in Russia.
