At the "Photonics-2024" exhibition, the "Ruselectronics" holding showcased its new line of optical infrared filters for thermal imagers, guidance systems, civilian video equipment, and fiber optic instrument engineering "Amethyst-IR" to the general public. The filters were announced at the beginning of the year, but it is only now that they can be seen in person.
"Amethyst-IR" includes shortwave and longwave blocking, narrowband, and bandpass filters. They:
- are easy to mount on any lens;
- provide images from 2 μm to 20 μm and shooting in twilight, fog, and other conditions of poor visibility;
- retain their working properties for 15 years;
- can be operated at temperatures from -60 to 70 degrees Celsius and relative humidity of 98%.
According to information from "Rostec's" subsidiary, "Amethysts" will replace Swedish, American, and British filters that are currently in use. In particular, products from Swedish Spectrogon, British Andover, and American Edmund Optics.
The "Amethyst-IR" line of interference infrared filters is developed and manufactured by the St. Petersburg Research Institute "Giricond," which is part of "Ruselectronics."
