Migration from Kaliningrad Region: TV manufacturer BBK, BQ, TCL, DEXP launched production in Moscow Region

STI Group launched production in Voskresensk

The Russian company STI Group, which assembled TVs of the brands BBK, BQ, TCL, DEXP, stopped production in the Kaliningrad Region and moved it to the city of Voskresensk in the Moscow Region. This decision was made due to logistical problems.

More than 150 million rubles were invested in the expansion of the production site. According to Skvortsov, in 2023, STI Group produced more than 300 thousand TVs, and thanks to the new capacities, the output will exceed 1 million TVs per year.

STI Group was registered in Kaliningrad in 2011. A 76% stake is owned by Olga Svirskaya. In 2023, sales revenue amounted to 642 million rubles, and net profit 8.9 million rubles.

Will the local TV assembly market grow in Russia?

A representative of OCS Distribution, Vladislav Borodin, said that he does not see a significant demand for TV assembly in Russia now. Many companies have returned to direct purchases of Chinese products.

However, difficulties arose in settlements between China and Russia, Borodin added. They are associated with the fear of Chinese banks that when accepting payments from Russian companies, they will be subject to secondary US sanctions. Against this background, the possible introduction of state benefits could stimulate the development of the local assembly market and own production, he concluded.

Earlier, TV manufacturer "Telebalt" stopped production in the Kaliningrad Region and intends to transfer capacity to the Leningrad Region.
