Сотни избирателей за пять минут — в России заработало ДЭГ на выборах президента страны

Nearly 5 million people applied to vote online — and these are only those who chose it outside of Moscow

The Ministry of Digital Development of Russia has announced the launch of the federal platform for remote electronic voting (DEG) in the Russian presidential elections. Thanks to it, some Russians will vote online from March 15 to 17. The system operates in Moscow and 28 other regions — this is the world's largest remote electronic voting in presidential elections.

Kamchatka Territory is the first to participate in DEG, where 8 am on March 15 has already arrived. At this time in Moscow it was still March 14 and 11:00 pm. By 9 am on March 15 Moscow time, all regions that work with the voting platform will be connected to DEG.

According to the Central Election Commission of Russia, almost five million people in 28 regions used the Gosuslugi portal to apply for participation in DEG. Muscovites, who are already familiar with the DEG system from the recent autumn mayoral elections, can make their choice on the mos.ru portal. Therefore, they did not need to apply separately for online voting.

It is already noted that the federal platform allows voting faster than any other system.

In the first five minutes, 2% of voters who applied for DEG in Kamchatka received ballots and are already voting. This is about 1000 people. No other form of voting is capable of showing such rates.

DEG will last three days, like regular voting at polling stations, and will end on March 17 at 8:00 pm local time. But there is a nuance: the voter will only be able to vote according to the time of the region in which he has permanent registration.
