Новый метропоезд «Москва-2024» вышел на «зелёную» ветку метро Москвы

Each car's capacity has increased by 17 people, but comfort has improved

Moscow Metro passengers using the "green" Zamoskvoretskaya line can now travel with greater comfort. The first of the new Moscow-2024 series of metro trains has appeared on the line.

Over three years, the Zamoskvoretskaya line's fleet will be completely updated not only with modern Moscow-2020 metro trains, but also with Moscow-2024 metro train models.

The differences between this series and the Moscow-2020, with its comfort and climate systems featuring air disinfection, are:

  • equipment in the lead cars for passengers with limited mobility;
  • through passage from the first to the last car and improved sound insulation;
  • door width increased by 32%: people can enter and exit the cars faster;
  • increased aisle width — the capacity of each car has increased by 17 people, and the train as a whole by 10%;
  • wider seats that are more comfortable and have more practical upholstery;
  • USB charging ports on the handrails instead of the seats, with plans to install new type-c ports and increase the number of connectors.
The share of modern cars in the Moscow Metro has already reached 74%. The renewal of the rolling stock does not stop there — an even more modern Moscow-2026 train is currently being developed.

Transport Program 2030

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced the appearance of the most innovative metro rolling stock in the world in Moscow. By 2030, it will feature autonomous operation, elements of unmanned control, climate control, and new, more spacious metro trains.

In addition, by 2030, a unified transport space for Moscow and the Moscow region will be fully formed. In addition to the four MCD diameters with unified tariffs, payment methods, safety standards, and comfort, it is planned to add 39 stations on the Yaroslavl and Paveletsky directions to the MCD tariff zone.

Also, by this time, they plan to make access roads to the diameter and metro stations more convenient, and expand the network of park-and-ride facilities. As Sobyanin noted, over six years, they plan to equip more than 150,000 new park-and-ride spaces in Moscow and the region.
