UK "Ural Steel" has launched an iron supermarket on its premises. This is a temporary storage facility for liquid iron with a capacity of 1300 tons on the territory of the enterprise, with the functions of maintaining temperature and averaging the chemical composition. The electric steelmaking shop was re-equipped for it in less than a year.
The iron supermarket helps steelmakers to take the required amount of alloy for steel production at any time. This will contribute to the growth in steel production and liquid iron consumption per ton of steel, and the planning of furnace loading.
The company is also preparing to launch a vacuum degasser and a third continuous casting machine soon. Together with the iron supermarket, these innovations will contribute to the growth of steel production to 2 million tons per year.
