Russia to raise the prestige of blue-collar professions: "Professionals" championship to become annual

Winners promised large cash prizes

The government announced that the "Professionals" professional skills and high technology championships will become annual. Cash prizes are offered for winning them. The decision was made by the Cabinet on behalf of President Vladimir Putin.

The competitions were first held in 2023. Their goal is to increase the prestige of blue-collar professions. The Russian authorities also want to support young people's interest in improving their skills.

According to the decision of the Cabinet, the final of "Professionals" will be held in St. Petersburg. And the final of the High Technology Championship will be hosted by Veliky Novgorod.

Russians who take first place will receive 300 thousand rubles, second place - 200 thousand rubles, third place - 100 thousand rubles. The project is funded under the state program "Development of Education".

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko recalled the "Student Startup" competition for university students. Applications are accepted until April 15, 2024. The authors of the best projects in seven categories will receive one million rubles each.
