Russia to equip over 20 border checkpoints with new digital inspection complexes

They are already operating on the border with Kazakhstan, China, Azerbaijan, and new regions

By the end of 2027, the Ministry of Transport of Russia will supply twenty-one checkpoints with new digital portal inspection and examination complexes. In them, the car along with the driver undergoes 100% scanning with a harmless dose of X-ray radiation.

Currently, seven checkpoints already have such inspection complexes. These are checkpoints on the border with Kazakhstan (Mashtakovo and Petukhovo), Azerbaijan (Tagirkent-Kazmalyar), on the administrative borders with the new subjects of the Russian Federation (Veselo-Voznesenka, Matveev Kurgan and Dzhankoy), as well as on the border with China (Zabaikalsk).

In those checkpoints where the latest equipment was installed, the speed of inspection has already increased significantly. In Mashtakovo, the time for inspection procedures has been reduced from 40 to 8 minutes, and the throughput has increased by 5 times. At checkpoints on the border with the new subjects, the time for inspection procedures has been reduced by 8-10 times.
