Column with missile systems "spotted" on the Moscow Ring Road and M7

A column of launchers of mobile ground missile systems (PGRK) "Yars" arrived in Alabino near Moscow from the Ivanovo region.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, this is a planned transfer. PGRKs are preparing for a military parade on Red Square: personnel and equipment of the Teikovsky missile formation have been participating in it since 2008.

The column traveled 400 kilometers along the transport highways of the Ivanovo, Vladimir and Moscow regions, including the federal highway M7 and the Moscow Ring Road.

Prior to this, preparations for the march were made in her home unit in Teikovo.

During preparations for the parade on Red Square, in January–February, the formation conducted training and control exercises with the personnel of the parade crew of the Strategic Missile Forces. After passing tests in special training and driving at the PGRK "Yars" launching pad at the training ground, the commission of the command of the Strategic Missile Forces and the Vladimir Missile Association decided to allow military personnel to participate in the preparation for the parade.

During the journey, the mechanics-drivers of three autonomous launchers made several stops for scheduled and control inspections of large-sized equipment.

"[Yars]" with solid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missiles replace the "Topol-M" that were in service with the Russian missilemen. There is both a mobile complex and a version with basing in a mine. The complex includes a false division with inflatable models and engine operation simulators.

For the first time, the complex was publicly shown at the Army-2023 forum in Moscow, but its characteristics were announced a little earlier. It is known that the rocket's caliber is 1.86 meters, its length is 17.8 meters, and its launch weight is 46 tons. The ICBM's payload mass is 1250 kilograms.

The three-stage ICBM is equipped with four multiple independently targetable warheads with a capacity of up to 500 kilotons each. During a flight that lasts more than 10 thousand kilometers, the missile in the mobile complex can change the flight mission.
