Russian Assault Troops Receive New "Strelets" Kits, and Their Animals Get "Obereg" Body Armor

The "Obereg" body armor version for cats and dogs is as good as the version for humans

The "Obereg" family of Russian body armor for assault units has a new addition. The Tula-based company "Oktava" (part of "RT-Capital") has created a small batch of body armor for pets in the war zone. A video featuring body armor for combat cats and dogs has been shown online.

It is noted that this is not mass production, but rather a souvenir item, but the products can save the lives of cats and dogs, just like "Obereg" for people

The standard "Obereg" consists of a substrate made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, a ceramic plate, Kevlar, and an additional layer. The last layer helps reduce the spread of fragments and creates moisture insulation. The ceramic plate withstands hits from 7.62*54 rounds fired from a rifle or machine gun. According to test characteristics, the body armor is more reliable than its American counterpart.

In the simple version for humans, the body armor weighs more than 11 kilograms, in the modernized version — 9.4 kilograms. The version for animals is not the lightest either.

However, one of the owners of the new item, a cat in the video nicknamed Mukhich, is calmly in it and, according to the owners, "should get used to" wearing body armor.

Russian soldiers have also received new equipment - it became known that they have begun using KBS "STRELETS" kits.

The KBS "STRELETS" kit has reached not only the warehouses of the Ministry of Defense, but also the front line

At the beginning of the year, "Triada-TKO" reported on the supply of "Strelets" combat gear kits (KBS) to the front. Now, photo confirmations have begun to arrive from the front lines. It is noted that assault troops are the first to receive this kit.
