In the second half of 2024, the authorities of Russia and Belarus plan to approve the rules for confirming the production of industrial products on the territory of the Union State, according to the decree of the Supreme Council of the Union State. The list will include goods made of metal, wood, cars, industrial equipment, weapons and ammunition.
According to Vladislav Safonov, a representative of Nextons, these rules will allow Russian and Belarusian manufacturers to access state support programs and subsidies. The goal of the leadership of the Union State is to unite industrial policies, as well as provide the opportunity to participate in government procurement.
For example, to access a tender in the automotive industry, an enterprise needs to score about 7 thousand points under the localization program. Most of them can be obtained for welding the body, painting and using domestic materials. Recognition of Belarusian goods (parts and components) by Russia would help in import substitution in the automotive industry.
In addition, Belarusian goods are actively bought in Russia. There is a lot of equipment produced by the neighboring state on the Russian market, including cargo equipment - from MAZ and BelAZ.
