The management of Rostec appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to give the construction of a new generation in Crimea and Taman with a total capacity of 1 GW without a tender. According to a letter dated January 10, the corporation plans to build new power units at the "Udarnaya" and "Tavricheskaya" TPPs. The project implementation period is 2027–2028, informed sources said.
Rostec intends to use its own GTE-110M gas turbines, as well as attract equipment suppliers from Iran. However, the Ministry of Industry and Trade wants the new generation to be based on domestic technologies, suggesting considering the option of turbines from "Silovye Mashiny". Market experts believe that capital expenditures on the construction of generation will amount to at least 263 billion rubles.
Another source said that Rostec proposed to the president to make "Technopromexport" (TPE, controlled by the corporation) the sole supplier of generating equipment. It is alleged that Putin put a visa on the letter "I agree for Crimea and Taman." There is no official confirmation of this information yet.
Rostec is completing the construction of the "Udarnaya" TPP with a capacity of 560 MW in Taman, and already operates the "Tavricheskaya" TPP with a capacity of 470 MW on the Crimean peninsula.
