NSU Scientists Develop Vacuum Aspirator for Effective Wound Healing

NSU students have developed a unique vacuum aspirator for healing wounds and burns, reducing the risk of complications. The therapy is based on the method of applying negative pressure and electricity to human tissues.

This will allow doctors to centrally manage several devices in surgical hospitals, the developer explained.

The main goal of the scientists is to make the device affordable for medical institutions. Vacuum aspirators are currently produced in Russia, but their cost is high.

The prototype of the vacuum aspirator was created in the summer of 2023 and presented at the clinic of the Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Lymphology. Taking into account the recommendations from specialists, the students refined the prototype - reduced the size, introduced additional functions. In the coming months, NSU plans to begin preclinical studies of the aspirator on animals.
