New enterprises for recycling car tires may appear in the regions of Russia.
Kommersant writes, citing its own sources, that a subsidiary of the Ekto holding, Western Petroleum Transportation LLC, intends to acquire the assets of Premio Crumb LLC, which is considered one of the leaders in the truck tire recycling market in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
They are engaged in the processing of worn-out tires into rubber crumb. It is used in road construction, in the installation of sports coatings, for the production of rubber tiles and other products. The company is a member of the Russian Association for the Promotion of Tire Restoration and Recycling "Shinoecology", which includes more than thirty companies from all over Russia. Analysts believe that after the acquisition of this asset, the tire recycling business under the auspices of Ekto may be scaled to other regions.
Ekto LLC was founded by the son of the main shareholder of LUKOIL, Yusuf Alekperov. Ekto owns 50% of the Lukavto car dealership, WellTech, which repairs wells in the West Siberian District, and produces energy drinks. Western Petroleum Transportation, which also belongs to the holding, is engaged in transportation.
