Art-Finance, which owns the Volkswagen plant in Russia, has bought Hyundai's production facilities in St. Petersburg.
The entire block of shares of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus LLC has been transferred to the company. This refers to the plant in Shushary and Kamenka.
Alexey Kalitsev, CEO of AGR LLC (a subsidiary of Art-Finance), said that the company plans to restart production. The management will retain jobs for employees and will soon find application for their skills.
According to auto expert Sergei Tsyganov, the new owner of the Hyundai plant has two scenarios for the development of events. The first involves the assembly of 70 thousand Hyundai Solaris, Creta, Rio - this is exactly the amount of parts the company has. The second, less optimistic one, involves assembling as many cars as it is possible to purchase electronic units for. This information has not been officially confirmed.
Earlier, Hyundai said that it had sold its Russian assets for a symbolic price and suffered heavy losses. At the same time, the concern does not intend to leave the market completely, therefore, it does not refuse to provide after-sales service to customers.
