The Stavropol State Agrarian University (SSAU) will launch a training program for drone operators for the agricultural sector in 2024.
Methodologists at SSAU have developed a program of additional professional education for training agrodrone pilots whose weight does not exceed 30 kg. The Stavropol Territory, by decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation, will become an experimental region for training drone operators. The university believes that this will help the development of an entire industry.
Russian farmers are already using unmanned technologies. For example, treating a field with pesticides using agrodrones can save up to 30% of the cost of chemicals.
Earlier, Rosaviatsiya issued the first airworthiness certificates to two agrodrones weighing more than 30 kg.
