US школьник первым в мире прошел 157 уровней "Тетриса" и выиграл

13-year-old American wins at "Tetris" without assistance

Thirteen-year-old Willis Gibson completed 157 levels of "Tetris," after which the game ended. Previously, this had not been achieved by any human, only by artificial intelligence.

It was believed that there were only 29 levels in "Tetris," because it is at this level that the blocks fall too quickly and the player does not have time to place them in their places. However, Gibson, who plays "Tetris" at a competitive level, went further. He finished in just 40 minutes.

This year, "Tetris" turns 40 years old. The game was invented by Soviet programmer Alexey Pajitnov when he worked at the Computing Center of the Academy of Sciences. The "Tetris" boom began in the world in the late eighties, and the game gained particular popularity in the USA, Japan, and the USSR. After the release of the eponymous film starring Taron Egerton in 2023, sales of "Tetris" rose again.
