Russian carrier Aeroflot has 100% replaced the entertainment systems on board with domestic alternatives, according to the company's deputy head Anton Matskevich on the sidelines of the Digital Transportation forum.
The development of systems hosted on servers in Russia belongs to domestic specialists. The content available for viewing in the air is also Russian. According to Matskevich, this is a very significant event for Aeroflot.
We have replaced the application for pilots, who use navigation maps and an electronic reporting system.
He added that flight attendants received so-called Crew tabs - tablets that allow them to recognize frequent flyers among passengers. For example, a VIP passenger sitting in seat 2A often orders tomato juice and a pillow. The flight attendant, without waiting for a request, can offer the passenger what he needs.
Earlier, Aeroflot offered passengers to buy several seats in order to comfortably accommodate themselves during a long flight.
