«Товарищ майор»: что известно о новой российской нейросети, которая деанонимизирует Telegram

In Telegram channels, it will identify owners and administrators by digital footprints

A new neural network, "Comrade Major", is being tested in Russia, capable of identifying the owners of anonymous Telegram channels and their administrators. The development will help combat cybercrime, fake information, and a number of other violations of laws in the messenger.

The system is currently being tested at the developer company T.Hunter<br>

"Comrade Major" collects data related to the channel: information about administrators from the channel description, its archived copies, posts and videos, information about mobile phones, addresses, and other digital footprints linked to the user's profile. The neural network uses data leaks, as well as information from communities on social networks, blogs, and websites related to the channels. And this is only the part of the data that the developers have disclosed - some of the methods remain secret.

The product is planned to be released on the market in 2024–2025, and the clients will be structures that investigate cybercrimes related to anonymous Telegram communities. In the future, "Comrade Major" may collect enough data to block a particular channel or initiate a criminal case, and work for law enforcement agencies and national security agencies.

The neural network can also check legal entities by TIN: duration of existence, number of employees, authorized capital, registration address, and other data.

"Comrade Major" will be taught to investigate other objects as well: social media accounts, phone numbers, email addresses, and cryptocurrency wallets. However, the personal data of people will be protected, preventing leaks.
