VK Holding May Acquire a Major English Language School Network

A "subsidiary" of one of the holding's companies is vying for the former English First

VK's "subsidiary", the online educational platform Uchi.ru, intends to acquire 100% of the share capital of the international company Rushmore LLC.

If the deal is approved, VK will strengthen its position in a very promising area - innovation in education

According to Kommersant, the FAS database of legal decisions contains a corresponding petition that is already under consideration. By acquiring Rushmore, Uchi.ru will take ownership of its assets in the form of the UFirst network of English language schools. These educational institutions were acquired by Rushmore from English First, one of the world's largest English language education programs. It had a branch in Russia since the mid-nineties.

Uchi.ru is currently the largest Russian group of companies associated with online education. The platform with this name includes the online tutoring school Uchi.Doma, the educational portal Uchi.Otvety, and the Uchi.ru network of offline circles in programming, mathematics, and English. The service is used by more than 16 million people.

In addition to it, VK Holding already has its own separate educational platform VK Education, which includes projects and initiatives for schoolchildren, students, teachers, and professionals in the IT and digital fields.
