About the spread of Era-GLONASS

According to the latest data, 10 million cars are connected to the system, including 1 million in 2023. According to the head of JSC GLONASS, in 2024 the company plans to modernize the device - the hardware will remain the same, but the firmware will change.

It is noted that Era-GLONASS will have a function to inform the driver about the situation on the roads. This will reduce the number of repeated accidents on high-speed highways.

About new directions

Raykevich said that one of the important areas of the company's work is to ensure the cybersecurity of cars connected to the system. In addition, in the interests of the state, JSC GLONASS will monitor transport.

All public transport that belongs to state and municipal institutions will be connected to the Era-GLONASS system. The corresponding software - ERA Dispatching - has already been included by the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia in the register of domestic software.

Among the large-scale projects is the use of Era-GLONASS to regulate the speed of personal mobility equipment (SIM), including electric scooters. The work is being carried out jointly with the Moscow Department of Transport.

Earlier, Tesla announced plans to introduce an SOS button in its cars. JSC GLONASS reminded Elon Musk's company that they were 8 years late with this function.
