Первые в России отечественные рулевые рейки с электроусилителем начнут выпускать в Муроме

Initially, they will replace components for luxury Aurus cars, then be adapted for other passenger cars

JSC "PO Murommashzavod", also known as MMZ, has been given a new lease of life. The company has been allocated funds from the Industrial Development Fund to create a new production facility for import-substituting components for KAMAZ electric buses, luxury Aurus cars, and specialized agricultural machinery.

2.2 billion rubles are being allocated to create the production of important import-substituting components – power steering racks and others

The allocated funds will be used to build a new workshop with modern equipment. It will receive almost entirely domestic raw materials: the level of localization will be up to 94%.

From these raw materials, they plan to launch the first serial production of power steering racks for cars on the Aurus platform in Russia. The solution promises to be adapted for passenger cars from other Russian manufacturers as well.

MMZ will also produce:

  • power steering racks for small-tonnage Gazelle and Sobol vehicles – more than 2000 racks per year;
  • electric portal axles for KAMAZ and Volgabus electric buses – more than 200 axles per year;
  • transmissions – gearboxes and rear axles for agricultural tractors of the Kovrov Electromechanical Plant – up to 500 transmissions per year.

The new workshop will create 75 jobs.
