"GLONASS" announces a service for Russians that thousands of people have been waiting for - the ability to find their car in case it is stolen. The service will appear in 2024 based on the "ERA-GLONASS" information system.
The service will work thanks to the modernization of the firmware of the emergency response device, also known as the SOS button. It will not be possible for attackers to immediately disable or muffle the SOS button after the theft. The system will automatically notify the car owner of an attempt to do so.
No additional changes to the hardware of the "ERA-GLONASS" devices should be expected, although they will become a little more expensive.
