Russian territory, where about 60% of the population lives, will be covered by 5G communication networks according to the communication industry strategy until 2030, said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
According to him, in this way the average mobile Internet speed will be at least 125 Mbps. In addition, 98% of households will be connected to the Internet with a speed of 1 Gbps. The new communication infrastructure will help to increase the capacity of lines for cross-border data transmission by 4.5 times.
Chernyshenko noted that the work is being carried out to ensure the country's technological sovereignty. To this end, a group of satellites will be launched into space by 2035, and 19 spacecraft will be put into orbit.
