Российским космонавтам доставили оборудование для изучения космической коррозии

"Progress MS-25" successfully docked with the ISS

"Roscosmos" announced the successful docking of the "Progress MS-25" space freighter to the "Poisk" module of the Russian segment of the ISS.

"Progress MS-25" delivered 2,528 kg of cargo from Earth to the ISS - fuel, drinking water, nitrogen, tools, clothing and food for the crew, and, of course, New Year's gifts<br>

Now the cosmonauts will be able to start several major experiments on the ISS. They received equipment for the "Quartz-M" project - it will be installed on the "Poisk" module during work in outer space to study and control space corrosion.

Another interesting experiment, "Quail", is related to the exploration of new cosmic spaces and the influence of weightlessness on the development of living organisms.

A special "Incubator-3" complex and 48 Japanese quail eggs in it will help in its study. On the "Nauka" module, half of the eggs will be in weightlessness, half in a centrifuge simulating Earth's gravity.

At certain stages of embryo development (after three, seven, ten and 14 days), some of the eggs will be removed from the incubator, fixed in a formaldehyde solution in a special sealed device, and then returned to Earth so that scientists can study the "frozen" embryos at different stages of formation.

Among other cargo, the trophy of the first ever "Games of the Future" tournament, which will be held in Kazan from February 21 to March 3, 2024, arrived at the ISS. The trophy will return to Earth and will be presented at the tournament.
