App Store and Google Play declare war on "Gosuslugi" and other Russian applications

Ten major Russian applications with millions of users have been removed in recent days

Mobile app stores App Store and Google Play have begun removing major Russian applications used by millions of Russians without explanation.

Users will have to look for other online application stores. But you should use large marketplaces that monitor the absence of copies of popular applications with built-in malware in their assortment

Removals began on November 29: then the applications of Russian banks "Home Bank", "OTP Bank", "Pochta Bank", "Russian Standard", "Absolut" and "All-Russian Bank for Regional Development" disappeared from the stores.

A day later, on December 1, Google Play removed the "Gosuslugi" service. The App Store removed the applications of Russian Railways, the "Citydrive" car sharing service and the "SberMarket" food delivery service.

For now, Android owners can download programs from another large and secure application store. These are, for example, AppGallery, Galaxy Store or the Russian analogue of Google Play called RuStore.

Owners of iOS devices have a slightly harder time. To restore deleted applications, they will need the iMazing utility, linked to their account.

In the case of banks, the installation file of banking applications is available on their official websites.
