The A-222 "Bereh" self-propelled artillery system with a caliber of 130 mm effectively repels attacks by unmanned surface vessels and sabotage groups in the Black Sea. The artillery gun independently finds surface targets and strikes them with precision fire.
The "Bereh" was created in the eighties and adopted into service in 1996. The first serial complex entered the Black Sea Fleet in 2003. It consists of a division with three batteries of two self-propelled guns each. The high mobility of the installation is achieved by placing it on MAZ-543M wheeled chassis.
It is noted that the A-222 has a radar and an optoelectronic station that helps detect enemy objects at a distance of up to 35 km. The calculation of target coordinates occurs automatically.
The "Bereh" attacks with four types of shipborne projectiles at a rate of up to 12 rounds per minute. The complex can hit a target that is 23 km away from the self-propelled gun.
