Russian Su-30SM multirole fighters, developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau, are used to neutralize enemy unmanned boats in the Black Sea. The aircraft have exceptional maneuverability and are equipped with a modern radar that can find any target within a radius of 400 km, writes the American magazine The Military Watch.
A significant improvement in the design of the Su-30SM is the introduction of a radar with a phased antenna array N011M Bars [Bars radar control station - editor's note www1.ru]
Military experts of the publication emphasize that this radar is considered one of the largest ever built into a fighter. With its help, Su-30SM pilots are well aware of the situation in the air, on land and at sea. Radar equipment allows you to aim weapons at a target, even if it is out of sight.
The Military Watch acknowledged that the Russian fighter has balanced technical characteristics for performing any task.
According to the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the Su-30SM, which is produced at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, can operate day and night in any weather. Its maneuverability is achieved through forward horizontal tail and engines with controlled thrust vector. Thanks to the Bars radar, the Su-30SM pilot can track up to 15 targets, overcoming the interference of enemy electronic warfare equipment.
The fighter has 12 suspension points for a wide range of missile and bomb weapons. The Su-30SM also has a GSh-30-1 cannon with a caliber of 30 mm.
Earlier, the American edition pointed out the advantages of the Su-57, noting that the F-35 is inferior to the Russian fighter.
