Russian tankers have received a special protective suit capable of protecting against shell fragments and fire when a tank is hit during combat.
The special suit can withstand hits from fragments weighing up to 2 grams, bullets up to 9 mm caliber, and is capable of withstanding close combat encounters with the enemy's cutting weapons.
It will also protect the tanker from fire for the time it takes to evacuate the tank in the event of a hit and fire. The special suit is fire-resistant, withstanding temperatures up to 1100 degrees Celsius for fifteen seconds.
In addition, Russian tanks are now being fitted internally with a special lining made of aramid fabric. It protects tank crews and their ammunition from fragments and their consequences.
