The "Radioelectronic Technologies" concern, part of Rostec, has presented a remote control platform for the PKT tank machine gun (Kalashnikov tank machine gun - note from www1.ru editor).
It is equipped with a high-resolution (Full HD) video camera module that helps an operator located up to 1 km away to hit the target.
According to Rostec's press service, four such platforms have been handed over to Russian military personnel. Five more units will be delivered to the Russian Armed Forces by the end of 2023.
The platform was developed by specialists from the Stavropol-based "Signal" plant. It is known that only two months passed from the receipt of the technical specification to the manufacture of the first prototype.
The module is controlled using a terminal consisting of a joystick and a liquid crystal monitor. The final product can also be equipped with a thermal imager and a night vision device to engage the enemy in the dark.
