Alice Learned Kazakh: Yandex's Virtual Assistant Now Speaks the National Language of Kazakhstan

Yandex's virtual assistant, Alice, now speaks Kazakh, providing wider access to information for users in Kazakhstan

Alice, the virtual assistant from Yandex, can now communicate in Kazakh. This has been made possible by the latest update to Yandex Browser. The new feature will not only allow you to get an answer to a question or find out the weather forecast, but also to have a simple conversation.

To access the Kazakh-speaking Alice, you need to update Yandex Browser to the latest version, click on the Alice icon and select "Change language". Now, using the new feature, you can ask Alice interesting questions, learn about attractions, get information about the weather in different cities of Kazakhstan or the forecast for the weekend. In the future, it is planned to increase the number of scenarios for using Alice in Kazakh.

Sergey Melnik, head of Alice and Yandex's smart devices, emphasized that this step will help improve the user experience in the region. Alice in Kazakh is trained on thousands of manually translated dialogues and audio recordings with the participation of native speakers and editors, which allowed her to better understand requests and provide high-quality answers.

Yandex continues to develop the localization of its services in Kazakhstan. Previously, the company had already launched video translation into Kazakh in the Browser and the Yandex application with Alice, as well as quick answers in Kazakh in Search. Now other company services are also available in Kazakh, including Taxi, Food, Delivery and Maps.

Alice is Yandex's virtual assistant, capable of answering questions, selecting music, helping with everyday tasks and controlling a smart home. Its capabilities cover a wide range of areas, providing a unique experience in virtual communication.
