Diesel icebreakers will begin to be built in Russia next year. "Rosatom" will order four icebreakers for at least 30 billion rubles each.
Diesel icebreakers will increase the capacity of the Northern Sea Route and make icebreaking services more accessible.
However, the question arises: who will build ships of this caliber? The only contender is the Zvezda shipbuilding complex in the Far East. But it is also currently the only enterprise in Russia with large docks for repairing large-capacity cargo ships and marine floating structures.
