Sevmash (part of USC) is developing a unique project for a new floating dock for nuclear submarines. It will operate at the stage of removing nuclear submarines from the company's slipway.
According to the company's press service, the new dock will be "structurally similar" to the existing PD "Sukhona". However, this is a unique project, not only in terms of technical equipment, but also in terms of dimensions. The new floating dock will become one of the largest civilian facilities in terms of displacement implemented by Sevmash.
The Almaz Design Bureau has been developing the technical design of the new floating dock since 2020. In June of this year, Sevmash concluded a new contract with it for the development and technical support of working design documentation (RDD).
