The Russian telecommunications company "Vimpel-Communications" ("VimpelCom", which owns the "Beeline" brand) has acquired 95% of "SDN-Video" LLC (content delivery network operator CDNVideo - note from www1.ru editors). This is confirmed by data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRLE).
It is noted that the changes were made to the USRLE on August 30. According to SPARK, VimpelCom bought 88% from Hong Kong Wangsu, 5% from CDNvideo CEO Yaroslav Gorodetsky, and another 2% from the company's technical director Sergey Ivlenkov.
CDNVideo owns a content delivery network, the nodes of which are installed in major cities of Russia, as well as in the CIS countries, the USA, Israel, and Singapore. The company's services are used by VGTRK, REN-TV, and about 20 other Russian TV channels. CDNVideo occupies up to 50% of the Russian content delivery market. In 2022, the company's revenue exceeded 500 million rubles.
In early October, it was reported that the foreign holding Veon wants to sell 100% of VimpelCom to a Russian company. The buyer may be "Kopernik-invest 3" OJSC. Consequently, the owner of the Beeline operator will change.
