The Ka-52M helicopter, manufactured by AO «Kamov», will receive a circular radar station (RLS) which will be located under the fuselage. With its help, the pilot can scout in any weather and even in the presence of radio interference. This was reported by an informed source RIA «News».
According to him, the new type of RLS can detect various air targets, including aircraft, drones, enemy artillery positions in high-resolution radio vision mode. The agency's interlocutor added that the Ka-52M also received a new target designation system. With its help, the pilot can hit enemy targets in zero visibility conditions. It is clarified that, presumably, «Whirlwind» type missiles will be used.
The Ka-52 helicopter is in conformity with NATO's Hokum B military-political block codification. Ka-52 is the successor of Ka-50, its prototype was presented in the summer of 1997. The helicopter is on the armament of the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Egyptian Air Force.
