The Ka-52M helicopter manufactured by Kamov will receive a circular radar (radar), which will be located under the fuselage. With its help, the pilot will be able to conduct reconnaissance in any weather and even in the presence of radio interference. This was reported by an informed source of RIA Novosti.
According to him, new types of radar can detect various air targets, including aircraft, drones, and enemy artillery positions in radio vision mode with a high level of detail. It is noted that the system is capable of calculating targets with low radar contrast [manifested when the target is irradiated by radar - editor's note www1.ru].
The agency's source added that the Ka-52M also received a new targeting system. With its help, the pilot can strike enemy targets in zero visibility conditions. Presumably, missiles of the Vikhr family will be used for them.
The Ka-52 helicopter corresponds to the NATO military-political bloc codification Hokum B. The Ka-52 is the successor to the Ka-50, its prototype was presented in the summer of 1997. The helicopter is in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Egyptian Air Force.
