Autonomous truck StarLine starts transporting cargo from Saint-Petersburg to Moscow

Two capitals are connected by the route of the driverless truck StarLine

Regular haulage of autonomous trucks has started on the M11 'Neva' highway. The autonomous truck StarLine has already transported 10 tons of cargo from St. Petersburg to Moscow. It is noted that the unmanned truck is built on the base of Mercedes, but the autopilot itself is a Russian development.

The truck route is built using data obtained from GNSS-RTK receivers, lidars. Video cameras and inertial sensors are also used.

The ongoing information about the road situation is processed by artificial intelligence (AI). In addition, the unmanned vehicle movement is ensured, including with the help of a digital road model, which displays the signs, speed limits.

It is known that StarLine can only be used with the existence of a detailed digital road model. The map is developed in advance; it is uploaded into the software of the truck.
