Regular transportation by unmanned trucks has been launched on the M11 Neva highway. The StarLine autonomous truck has already transported 10 tons of cargo from St. Petersburg to Moscow. It is noted that the unmanned truck is built on the basis of Mercedes, but the autopilot itself is a Russian development.
The truck's route is built using data obtained from GNSS-RTK receivers and lidars. Video cameras and inertial sensors are also used.
The incoming information about the road situation is processed by artificial intelligence (AI). In addition, the movement of the drone is ensured, including through a digital road model that displays signs and speed limiters.
It is known that StarLine can only be used if there is a detailed digital road model. The map is developed in advance and loaded into the truck's software.
