Russian off-road vehicle for extreme driving will get a Chinese engine

In Krasnoyarsk, a new Russian off-road vehicle Visuva is being developed, which will be able to combine the functions of an all-terrain vehicle and a car for "urban jungles".

According to the project's executive director Alexander Sasin, the structure of the "cross-country vehicle" was invented by rally driver Dmitry Zubritsky. That's why Visuva got an independent double-wishbone suspension using buggy technology and rally cars. 

It is known that currently the prototype uses drives from Toyota Sequoia, 1UZ-FE engine with a volume of 4 liters and a power of 280 hp from Great Wall. With this engine, the company tests the suspension, checks the car's cross-country ability.

It's expected that the serially produced SUV will get a Chinese Great Wall engine. It will be a 2-liter (227 hp) and ​​3-liter (354 hp) petrol turbo engine in combination with 8-speed and 9-speed automatic transmissions. The developers also plan to borrow the braking system, which is used in the Tank 300 and 500 models.

It is noted that the car's ground clearance will be 470 mm. The base configuration of the model might include off-road and regular tires, as well as wheels with a diameter of 18-22 inches.

No other details about the off-road vehicle are given. There is also currently no information about the official premiere of Visuva.
