Become Ghosts: Chukavin sniper rifle will increase the shooter's stealth

Result of the "Reaper" R&D: Chukavin sniper rifle will go into mass production

The Chukavin sniper rifle (SVCh) manufactured by JSC Concern Kalashnikov, which was created as part of the "Reaper" development work, has passed qualification tests. The company will launch mass production of the SVCh.

According to the president of the concern, Alan Lushnikov, the 7.62x54 mm SVCh is a new generation of weapons on which silencers, night and infrared sights can be installed. The weight of the rifle without the magazine is 4.8 kg, and the total length is 1170 mm. The barrel length is 620 mm.

The creator of the sniper rifle, Andrei Chukavin, said that the customer requested the development of more ergonomic weapons. A low-noise shooting device (PMS) is installed on the rifle, which increases the shooter's stealth, he noted.

The PMS muffles the flame — it is not visible when fired, even if it was fired at night. Thus, shooting from the SVCh becomes safer for the shooter — it is more difficult for the enemy to calculate his location.

In August, Kalashnikov presented a new short-barreled assault rifle at the Army-2023 forum in the Patriot park.
