According to "Autostat," in August 2023, Russians bought 1,204 electric vehicles, which is a new record (67% more than in August 2022). In total, for the 8 months of this year, the volume of the used electric vehicle market amounted to 6,919 units, 19% more than in the same period last year.
Nissan is a monopoly brand in the Russian used electric vehicle market: in August, it secured more than 60% of the market. This is not surprising, as Russians (especially in the Far East) have a great love for the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle. Tesla is in second place. In August, Russians bought 209 American electric vehicles of this brand, which is 17% of the market. Volkswagen is in third place, but the gap from Tesla is huge: 32 used Volkswagen electric vehicles were sold in August.
In the top 5 model standings, in addition to the Nissan Leaf, which settled in first place, are... four Tesla models: Model 3, Model S, Model Y and Model X.
