Su-34 fighters equipped with long-range cruise missiles

An industry source reports that Russian Su-34 bombers have been upgraded with the introduction of long-range cruise missiles

Russian Su-34 bombers have been upgraded and received long-range cruise missiles, which will expand their tactical capabilities, RIA Novosti reports, citing an unnamed source in the industry.

Su-34 front-line bombers have received new capabilities that allow them to use long-range cruise missiles (LRCM). Experts believe that this will increase the variability of the Su-34's use as LRCM carriers, especially in the event of conflict escalation.

Earlier it was reported that Su-34 bombers began to use universal planning and correction modules (UPCM) with unguided bombs FAB-1500 weighing 1.5 tons. UPCM convert conventional free-fall bombs into guided throwing devices, increasing their accuracy and efficiency. Also recently tested bundle Su-34 and hypersonic missile "Kinzhal" (Kh-47M2).

The Su-34 front-line bomber remains an important element of Russian military power and is capable of performing a variety of tasks, including engaging ground, surface and air targets. Improvements within the Su-34NVO version (NVO - \"new capabilities\") give the fighter improved avionics, allow it to use new weapons, and expand reconnaissance and targeting capabilities. In addition, the upgraded Su-34 can use suspended universal reconnaissance containers to accurately determine the coordinates and other parameters of enemy targets.
