Rostec announced that an ophthalmological analyzer that allows diagnosing glaucoma at an early stage has been registered with the Ministry of Health and will be released to the market within six months. The device was created by the Zagorsk Optical-Mechanical Plant, which is part of Rostec's Shvabe holding.
Our development has been registered with the Ministry of Health, and clinical testing of the methodology used in the device is currently being organized jointly with the Helmholtz National Medical Research Center of Eye Diseases and the Ministry of Health. As soon as we pass all the stages – I think this will happen within a year – we will launch the analyzer on the market.
The methodology of the device, developed jointly with the Helmholtz National Medical Research Center of Eye Diseases, is based on the gradation of the degree of exceeding the tolerant intraocular pressure and the corresponding probability of detecting glaucoma. After processing the information received, the measurement results are transmitted to the doctor's computer and entered into the patient's electronic record.
