Sberbank has decided to increase the validity period of Mir cards: instead of five years, they will be valid for 10 years.
Customers no longer need to change their card to a new one every five years. "Sber" decided to increase the validity period of bank cards on the Mir payment system from five to ten years. For debit cards , issuance for a new term began on September 1, for credit cards - from October 3.
Kirill Tsarev noted that the innovation applies to both debit cards and credit cards, and even payment stickers. This decision will reduce the amount of plastic waste generated during card disposal.
